Main & Maple Coffee House in Nicholasville, Kentucky

The Main & Maple Coffee House located in Nicholasville, Kentucky is a must stop for any travelers in the area. The M & M Coffee House offers the perfect casual and relaxing setting for breakfast and lunch as a treat out or with clients. The "ville" sandwich and the chicken torino wrap are fabulous and barely touch the head chef's culinary artistic abilities. All the ingredients for the food and coffee beverages are so fresh that Main & Maple Coffee House definitely lives up to their slogan "making more that just coffee."

Ohio

Located 15 miles east of Cincinnati, Ohio, the small town of Milford is the latest stop for the LFI team. While enjoying the scenic views of the Little Miami River, LFI recommends lunch at Big Poppa Slims Café on Main. The retro style café with vinyl album covers blanketing the walls serves iconic classic sandwiches such as the Dean Martin and Old Blue Eyes. This vintage restaurant is just one great place in Milford; across the street is the Coolest Toys On Earth- a local toy shop that will bring out the kid in anyone!

Louisiana

When most people think of "Cajun" and "Mardi Gras" the first place that comes to mind is New Orleans; however, if you make that observation to a southern Louisiana native, prepare to be met with a head-shaking, yet good natured scolding (probably in French).

louisiana As many of the locals will be more than happy to tell you, "real" Cajun country is more about the sprawling lowland crawfish farms of southern Louisiana in lesser-hyped locales such as Eunice, Youngsville, and coastal Morgan City.  For a true Cajun dining and cultural experience, try D.I.'s Cajun Food and Music in Basile where you can eat your fill of gumbo and enjoy live Cajun music by Brigg's Brown and The Bayou Cajuns and many other local performers.  Oh, and if you find yourself in  the area during football season, feel free to scream "Who Dat!" to every person you see - it's the universal language.

New Mexico

La Posta de Mesilla restaurant is located in the town of Las Cruces and features food and atmosphere that can transport you to a different country.  The restaurant is expansive with many small rooms that you can almost get lost.

newmexicoDespite the plentiful seating, La Posta is popular with tourists and locals alike so that there may be a short waiting time for an available table, in which case you can hang out with the macaws at the front of the restaurant.

Montana

At the Broken Arrow in Deer Lodge, Montana, you'll find some of the best steaks anywhere.  It was always our first stop whenever we were in town.  Granted it was about the only restaurant in this small mountain town, but their steaks were outstanding.

Another one of our Montana favorites is Big Sky Brewing in Missoula.  We never missed a chance to stop by the brewery and sample whatever was on tap.  Bottles of Moose Drool, Scape Goat and their other microbrews always seemed to find their way back to Kentucky in our luggage.

Alaska

Located in the southeast panhandle of Alaska, the Ocean View Restaurant in Ketchikan is a local family restaurant that features a Mexican / Italian menu.  The nearby docks provide the menu with a twist of fresh seafood, as well as a good place to sit and watch the cruise ships pass.  Their deck is a great place to sit when the weather is nice to enjoy the views of the water and mountains with an Alaskan Amber from the tap.

South Carolina

Don't miss Captain Woody's on Hilton Head Island - they have the best fried oysters on the island. Tell owners Shannon and Russell that the guys from LFI, and our old friend Greg Schoen, sent you.  They'll take good care of you.
